The Karl Friedrich Schinkel designed tent room in the Charlottenhof Palace inspired the three-hundred metre blue-striped cloth interwoven through the scaffolding surrounding the site of the former Bauakademie Berlin. The as-yet-not rebuilt Bauakademie, also originally designed by Schinkel, stands opposite the Humboldt Forum, named for Alexander von Humboldt, a former occupant of the original tent room.
