Various locations, Berlin
Hydrant wrench, pipes
The intervention Eureka is an ephemeral series of fountains in empty and dreary locations in Berlin. The bubbling water, rising out of the pavement, immediately runs away and the water column rises rapidly and unexpectedly but also disappears just as quickly. What remains is the city. The fountain is traditionally used in gardens to show the beauty of the landscape. But in this intervention it reveals the contrast of the alienated urban space and the natural landscape through the element of water.
